Nez is a fitness Coach, Muay Thai kick-boxer, wife & mother who is determined to shatter the cultural and gendered norms surrounding sports and fitness. This is no new crusade. It was 2018 when she became Britain’s first hijabi kick-boxer to compete in Thailand; she has spearheaded ladies-only classes in kick-boxing and swimming, creating safe spaces for women of faith to step out of their comfort zones into; and her narrative continues to highlight that ‘strong’ is something you feel, not something you look. Being a mum of 2 throws up many challenges, but Nez confirms “my girls are my biggest motivation now and everything I do is for them. I hope to be that strong & positive role model that I needed to see when I was growing up.” Nez is focused on making her pro kick-boxing debut and dreams to represent the UK in the World Championships in the future.
