Caring about our environment isn’t always about the big headline grabbers – it’s the gains we make everyday that make the difference. It’s consistently challenging ourselves and our production partners to be better than yesterday in both our processes and practices..
Consciously partnering with packaging manufacturers that are located as close as possible to our production sites to ensure reduced carbon emissions. Ensuring to not only use sustainable material sources but also reduce their usage where possible. We’ve made some great progress to date but we know we’re not done and we’re excited about the journey!

Are your black tubs recyclable?
Yes! Thanks to a special black pigment in our HDPE packaging, our black tubs are detectable by NIR recycling systems and therefore 100% recyclable once you remove the label. Unfortunately, we know not all of our tubs will be recycled so we hope you will help us improve our recycling rate by sending yours.
Are all Gold Standard Plant products recyclable?
Yes, both our Gold Standard Plant Protein and Gold Standard Plant Pre-Workout are recyclable. Just make sure you remove the label!
Do your canned Products contain BPA?
No! All our canned products are free from BPA. They are also recyclable so please make sure to recycle yours once you are finished.
Are the labels recyclable?
Unfortunately, our labels are not yet recyclable so please make sure to remove these before sending your tub for recycling.
What do you do during the production process to be more sustainable?
All of our manufacturing sites are Zero Waste to landfill. This means we do not allow any unused ingredient or material excess to enter our landfills. We partner with local farms to make animal feed out of our leftover ingredient products, and send packaging material to appropriate recycling streams.
What are Optimum Nutrition’s sustainability goals?
It is a priority for our company to ensure we are minimising our environmental impact to create a sustainable future. We are committed to making all of our packaging reusable or recyclable by 2030, and look forward to our continued efforts to address the challenges in our current packaging to meet this goal!
